The order of objects on the Insert menu is determined by the file InsertMenu.htm in the Configuration/Objects folder. The file contains one large unordered (bulleted) list of all the objects within Configuration/Objects. Nested unordered lists indicate submenus, and list items containing only dashes indicate separators. Any objects that are not listed specifically are appended to the bottom of the Insert menu at startup.
To change the Insert menu:
1 | Open the file called InsertMenu.htm in the Configuration/Objects folder. |
2 | To add a new object, create a new list item and type the name of the object; the letter, number, or symbol that you want to use as a keyboard shortcut; and the file name of the object, separated by commas. For example: |
· Copyright DCD, C, Copyright DCD.htm
(Windows only) Highlight the letter you want to use as a mnemonic and choose Text > Style > Underline.
3 | To create a separator line between objects, create a new list item and type one or more hyphens. |
4 | To reorder the objects, rearrange them in the list. |
5 | To remove an item from the menu without removing it from the Object palette, delete its name and shortcut, but leave the commas and file name. For example: |
· , ,Layer.htm | |
6 | To remove an object entirely, move it out of the Configuration/Objects folder. |
