Macromedia's Flash technology is the premier solution for the delivery of vector-based graphics and animations. The Flash Player is available as both a Netscape plugin and an ActiveX control for Internet Explorer, and it is built in to the latest versions of Netscape Navigator, Windows 98, and America Online.
When you insert a Flash Player movie, Dreamweaver uses both the OBJECT
tag (defined by Microsoft for ActiveX controls) and the EMBED
tag (defined by Netscape) to get the best results in all browsers. When you make changes in the Property inspector for the movie, Dreamweaver maps your entries to the appropriate parameters for both the OBJECT
and EMBED
tags.
To insert a Flash Player movie:
1 | Place the cursor where you want to insert the movie. |
2 | Click the Flash Player button in the Object palette. |
3 | In the dialog box that appears, select a movie file. |
4 | In the Property inspector, enter the width and height of the movie in the W and H boxes. |
These are the only required properties. See Flash Player properties for more information on the other properties. | |
