Control Sound

Use the Control Sound action to play or stop a sound. For example, you might want to play a sound effect whenever the user rolls over a link, or you might want to play a music clip when the page loads and let the user stop the music by clicking a button.

Note: Browsers may require the LiveAudio plugin or equivalent to play sounds.

To use the Control Sound action:

1 Follow steps 1 through 3 of the procedure in Attaching a behavior.
2 Select Control Sound from the Actions pop-up menu.
3 Do one of the following:
To use the action to play a sound, enter the path and file name of a sound file in the Play Sound field, or click the Browse button to select a file.
To use the action to stop a sound, select the Stop Sound action and then choose a sound file from the adjacent pop-up menu.
4 Click OK.
5 Check that the default event is the one you want.
If it isn't, select another event from the pop-up menu. If the events you want are not listed, change the target browser in the Events For pop-up menu.
