Tables overview

Tables are useful for laying out data. They can also be used to control where text and graphics appear in a page. Once you create a table, you can add content, modify cell and row properties, and copy and paste multiple cells.

You can also convert between tables and layers. Both tables and layers allow you to control the positioning of page elements, but layers are not supported in 3.0 and earlier browsers. If your design process requires rapid repositioning of content, you can use layers to accomplish this task and then convert layers to tables for viewing in older browsers. See Using layers to design tables.
