Horizontal rules

Horizontal rules are useful for organizing information. On a page, text and objects can be visually separated by one or more rules. Horizontal rules can also be used to underline or emphasize titles and other elements.

To create a horizontal rule:

1 In the Document window, place the cursor where you want to insert a horizontal rule.
2 Do one of the following:
Choose Insert > Horizontal Rule.
Choose Window > Objects to open the Object palette, and then click the Horizontal Rule button.

To modify a horizontal rule:

1 In the Document window, select the horizontal rule.
2 Choose Window > Properties to open the Property inspector.
3 Modify the horizontal rule by changing any of the following properties:
W and H Specify the width and height of the rule in pixels or as a percentage of the page size.
Align Specifies the alignment of the rule (Default, Left, Center, or Right). This setting only applies if the width of the rule is less than the width of the browser window.
Shading Specifies whether the rule is drawn with shading. Deselect this option to draw the rule in solid color.
