Add new layers

Now add layers to match parts of the tracing image that don't yet appear on your page.

To add new layers to a page:

1 Click a blank area in the Document window.
Make sure the cursor is not inside an existing layer, or you'll create nested layers, which will keep you from converting the layers back to a table later on.
2 Choose Insert > Layer to add a new layer to the page.
3 Move the layer over the square area in the tracing image that says "Diana close-up photo."
Because the Prevent Overlaps option is selected in the Layer palette, you can't position layers on top of each other. You may need to resize the layer in order to drag it into a position that does not overlap another layer.
4 Select the layer and resize it, as needed, to match the area in the tracing image.
5 Repeat these steps to add to more layers to the page over the tracing image areas labeled "Farm photo (with daughter)" and "Tree photo."
