Changing defaults in Lotus WordPro 97
To alter the unit of measure that WordPro uses, select File, User Setup, Word Pro
Preferences, select the General tab and from the Measure in list box select the unit of
measure you want to use and click OK to finish.
Like most word processing packages, in WordPro all new documents are based on a
SmartMaster and in most cases this will be the default SmartMaster default.mwp (you will
find this in your LOTUS\SMASTERS\WORDPRO directory). This SmartMaster contains the
standard layout for a WordPro page and if you alter it then you'll alter the layout for
all new documents created using this SmartMaster. To alter these default settings create a
new document based on the default SmartMaster, make your changes and save the file over
the top of the existing SmartMaster. Alternately you can simply open default.mwp itself,
alter it and then save your changes.
Changes you can make to the default settings this way include paper size, margins, tabs, Default text font and language. Most alterations can be made by right-clicking on the editing screen and selecting Text Properties or Page Properties depending on the alterations required.
