To use Pocket PC Creations with a Pocket PC, a unique Unit ID must first be associated with it. This ID is stored with each session, and can be used to determine which Pocket PC a session came from.
Assigning a Unit ID from the PC
Users attempting to install a project on a Pocket PC without a Unit ID will automatically be prompted to assign one. To assign a new Unit ID manually, or change the existing ID of a unit, use the Set Unit ID... option on the Tools menu:
After changing a Unit ID, all subsequent sessions created on that unit will be associated with the new Unit ID. Note however that sessions performed previously on that unit will still report the previous Unit ID.
Assigning a Unit ID on a Pocket PC
If Pocket PC Creations is initially installed to a Pocket PC by opening a CAB file, the first time Pocket PC Creations is run a prompt will request entry of a Unit ID.
During wireless operation, the Client Properties display Update Unit ID function enables Unit IDs to be remotely amended from the Pocket PC Creations server, which can be useful for large wireless deployments if the user of the Pocket PC changes.
