The Sketch Point enables the user to draw a sketch on the Pocket PC using a stylus. Sketches can be drawn in colour using either an 8 or 4 colour pallete, or drawn in black. Sketches can also be drawn over background bitmap images imported into the Sketch point, providing a wide range of graphical recording options.
Sketch Area Size provides full screen width with options of from a single line to 8 lines in length. A single line is suitable for a signature, 8 lines provides maximum area for a drawing.
Colour Palette offers 8 and 4 colour options, and no palette for black. A colour is selected by tapping the colour before drawing with the stylus.
Clear Sketch selects whether a sketch can be cleared by the user. When this is disabled, sketch strokes cannot be removed once made. When enabled, tapping and holding on either the sketch area or the colour palette will remove the last stroke. The longer the stylus is held, the more strokes are removed, until the sketch is erased after 3 seconds. Tapping and holding a colour in the colour palette area will affect only strokes made in that colour.
Background Images can be displayed at up to 220 pixels wide, and may be either colour or grey scale. To select a background image, use the Image tab. When a background image is in use, the size of the sketch point will adjust to match the size of the image.
When the results from a project session are output, sketches are stored as bitmap (bmp) images.
For best results with Sketch images export into HTML, where the images will be presented in HTML pages along with any data collected. The bitmap images can be further managed to web formats (gif and jpg) using graphics software. Signature images can be included with Excel outputs, where they will be found close to the relevant Excel worksheet cell.
