Outlook Points

Outlook points can be used to integrate Pocket PC Creations projects with the Microsoft Pocket Outlook contact list. They allow contacts that have been stored in Pocket Outlook to be easily imported into Pocket PC Creations data sets.

The Outlook point displays as a drop-list, which is automatically filled with a list of contacts from Outlook. The list will be sorted by the "File As" or "Display Name" field. When a contact is selected from the list, Pocket PC Creations will automatically fill in any other points on the same page based on which contact has been selected.

When adding an Outlook point to a project page, the properties dialog provides an easy way to add points for Outlook data, such as CompanyName, Email1Address, etc.

Optionally, Allow new contacts enables an extra item to be displayed at the bottom of the contact list allowing the user to create a new Outlook contact on the fly. The [ Create New... ] option will open Pocket Outlook and present the new contact dialog box. Once saved, the details from the new contact will be inserted into the Pocket PC Creations project as before.

Advanced: Pocket PC Creations decides which points to fill in with Outlook data based on their ID name. If an Outlook point is named "Person", then any other points on the page beginning with "Person." will be filled in with data from Outlook based on the contact selected. The part of the ID name after the period (.) determines what field will be imported from Outlook, eg "Person.FirstName" would import the first name of the contact.

Outlook Points are not available in the Lite Edition.
