As you can see from this new style folder view, when you unleash Internet Explorer 4.0 Platform Preview on your Desktop you get an operating system overhaul as well as an all-new browser. However, you may also unleash system instability and a raft of other problems if you're not prepared to deal with software that is very much in the testing phase.

Due to the security certificates used in ActiveX Controls having expired on July 1, 1997 it is currently necesary to update to Authenticode 2.0, and then to update your Shockwave Director plug-in. You can do this by clicking the links below. This only affects users of Internet Explorer for Windows 95.
These updates will get rid of the annoying waring screen everytime an ActiveX control (such as our Shockwave navigation bar) appears on a page.

While we have provided the initital setup file for this product, you will need to be logged on to the Internet when you run it so it can download and install the rest of the program directly off the Web. To do this you should quit this browser and use the File / Run command, then type in D:\tools\win31\msie4\setup.exe (where D: is your CD-ROM drive).
