Many of these Help files can be run directly off the CD. Some however need to be installed and require the application for which they are intended be installed first. Those that require installtion have the Install Icon next to them.
If you want to copy this help file to a location on your hard disk for easier access you will find them under the \Patches\mskb\ folder on the CD.

Just one of Microsoft's extensive range of documents and utilities in its Office 97 Resource Kit, the Network Installation Wizard allows you to modify Setup information files to create a customized network installation of Office. If you install Office in batch mode (without user interaction), Setup installs the software using the default values you specify with the Network Installation Wizard. If users install Office in interactive mode, the values you set with the Network Installation Wizard are presented as the default choices during installation.

Also part of Microsoft's Office 97 Resource Kit, Advanced Documentation includes a variety of documents that explain how to alter Office 97 Setup or configuration. The instructions in these documents require knowledge of advanced features, such as the Network Installation Wizard or Setup table file (STF) syntax, and are intended for users familiar with these features.

To view the advanced documentation, run Off97adv.exe. The document files will be decompressed and placed in the \Program Files\ORK97\Document folder on your computer. In this folder, doubleclick the document you want to view.

The Microsoft Office 97 Resource Kit Informational Worksheets list items such as all of the files installed by Office 97, all of the registry keys created, all of the font files installed, and so on. These lists assist you by telling you whether a particular key or file on a user's computer is installed by Office.
These informational worksheets are described in the following table.

These are not default values and may differ depending on the hardware and software configuration of your computer. |

To view the informational worksheets, run Off97lst.exe. The informational worksheets will be decompressed and placed in the \Program Files\ORK97\Lists folder on your computer. In this folder, doubleclick the worksheet you want to view.
