Tip - What is a Conference

A conference is a communal area shared by FirstClass Users; messages posted within conferences are accessible to either everyone on the system or subsets of users (such as students on a course).

Each conference will have a governing set of permissions which allows an individual access and also what level of access. The two main types of access are Contributor, which allows people to post and read other posts, or Reader where users can read messages posted by certain other users.

A top-level conference is found directly on your FirstClass desktop and this may contain further conferences which are referred to as subconferences.
