gzip for L(inux)

- gzip (GNU zip) is a compression utility designed to be a replacement for 'compress'. Its main advantages over compress are much better compression and freedom from patented algorithms.
faith@cs.unc.edu normally maintains this for linux, since he is a tad busy with emacs, I thought I would pop this package out. new default extension .gz, now supports NT
