- This is a collection of (very) simple shell-scripts for handling compressed backups on tapes. It comes together with a guide which should be foolproof(?). It also includes a new version of the GNU tar (1.11.2) supporting gzip and the GNU mt version 1.2.2. The file backscri.tgz is a gzip-compressed tar.
This is intended for everybody looking for an EASY and reliable way for handling compressed tape backups. It is not intended to be the ultimate solution for all backup needs.
