- Version:
- 1.2p1
- Entered-date:

- Description:
- The Network Audio System is a distributed sound system
which includes a server program (au) which can receive audio
requests via TCP. Additionally, there are number of client
programs which can play sound files in various formats,
edit sound files, and convert sound files to different formats.
Of course, a client library (libaudio.a) and header files
are included for additional software development.

This tar archive should be extracted from / as root, with:
(cd / ; tar xvzf /tmp/nas-1.2p1.tar.bin.gz)
----
This copy supercedes the one uploaded on 1 December
I added the manual pages for NAS and fixed a problem that
caused incredible grief with many installations.
----
The copy of auvoxware should work fine with recent kernels.
----
If you have trouble, try renaming /dev/dsp1 and see if the
problem goes away. The implementation makes silly assumptions
about multiple audio devices. These assumptions are
particularly untrue if have a PAS-16 and enable soundblaster
emulation as well.
