Charity List Conditions Of Acceptance
To give you publicity I must satisfy myself that your organisation is bone fide. I shan't insist on registration with the Charity Commission (http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/) because it is possible to be legitimate but unregistered. I do, however, need evidence of your integrity. The onus is on you to meet the following conditions:
- The organisation must have a UK base.
- It must have a web page and an email address.
- If it is a registered charity, please quote the registration number.
- Include easily checked supporting evidence. This is less important for registered charities but essential for unregistered ones. Evidence may be sent by post if necessary to Ian Sharpe c/o PC Plus, Future Publishing, 30 Monmouth Street, Bath BA1 2BW. Photocopies are acceptable. Do not send anything that needs to be returned and please send an email to ian.sharpe@futurenet.co.uk to tell me it is coming, as I do not work at the PC Plus office.
Evidence could include the following (not necessarily all of it) and could already be on your web site. If not, it might help you if it were added:
- Names/addresses of credible organisations that have benefited from your work.
- Copies of relevant press cuttings or photographs.
- Copies of correspondence to or from your organisation on letterhead paper.
- Existing publicity on other credible web sites.
- Anything that helps add to an honest-looking and verifiable picture.
