Q: What are the system requirements for using the RocketRadio tuner?

A: The minimum system requirements for operation of the RocketRadio tuner are as follows:

  • Windows 95/98/NT
  • 6 MB of disk space
  • 32 MB system RAM
  • Windows Media Player (free download at http://www.microsoft.com).

Q: Why am I not able to connect to certain stations?

A: From time to time there may arise instances where you are unable to access your favorite station, but never fear, most of these situations are temporary so it should just be a matter of time before your station is up and running once again. There are a couple possible explanations for this: 1) The link that is used to access the radio station has expired, or 2) The station itself is temporarily unavailable due to heavy internet traffic (too many users), or technical problems with its website.

Q: How do I find a specific radio station?

A: Wisely anticipating the need for such a feature, the techies at RocketRadio had the foresight to install a station search feature on the Rocket Radio tuner. This feature can easily be accessed from within the station selection window. Type in the call letters of the station you're lookin for and click the Search button. A list of matching stations will show up in the list. Click on the station you want to hear and click Play. This also works if you type in a city, country, or station format. If we don't currently offer the station you're looking for, please fill out the add-station form on our website.

Q: The sound from one of the stations I'm listening to is horrible. What can I do to make it better?

A: One way to guarantee the best quality sound would be to invest in a sophisticated speaker system, it might cost you about -400 dollars but you would never have to worry about poor sound again. But if you were looking for a more cost-efficient method, you might try restarting your computer. Sometimes the sound from a radio station can be affected if you have other applications that are open and occupying the computer. By restarting your computer all applications are closed, making sure sound quality is not hampered by the computer having to operate multiple applications simultaneously. For those of you with a dial-up internet connection, logging off the internet and re-connecting may also help to improve sound. Unfortunately, the source of poor sound quality often can be traced to the radio station itself. In this case, there's nothing that can be done by you or us to help, unless of course you're still looking for some new speakers.
