ACME's sales division currently uses a variety of methods to distribute information to its salesforce:
- Email
- Competative information, and summary information (outline specs and pricing) for products are typically sent to the salesforce as email attachments as they are updated.
- On-line access
- ACME's Intranet and Internet servers contains large amounts of colateral in web-based formats which may be accessed when on-line.
- Files copied from the office
- Much of the most critical information cannot easily be delivered remotely because of its large size. In particular the company has a number of corporate presentations in PowerPoint format which sales people frequently give at customer sites. To have access to these whilst on site individual sales people copy them onto their laptops from the company's Intranet when they have access in the office.
