In this version of the CD we are introducing a new facility to keep the CD up to date without you having to keep track of the latest CD to use.

To do this we are using a product called SoftCD - you will find an installer for this in the 'installers' folder on this CD. Double-click this installer to install SoftCD on your machine.

Also new in this version of the field support CD is a version of our problem history database which you can access from the CD and hence on-site. Hopefully this will cut down on all those complaints about our online system and having to be in the office to use it!

Because of the proprietary nature of the information in this database we have encrypted it using SoftCD, so you won't be able to access it until you've installed SoftCD (as above) and unlocked the CD. To unlock the CD simply double-click on the SoftCD link file (it's called ACME_field_support.orl') in the root of this CD once you've installed SoftCD - SoftCD will do the rest! You'll also need to know a password to do this - this is available from field support by email on field_support@ACME.com - please include the words 'field support password request' in the subject line of your email.

We will be publishing regular weekly updates to the information on this CD using SoftCD. To apply these you just need to double-click the SoftCD link file at the start of each Monday morning and an update will be downloaded. You will just see an updated CD which you can carry on using as normal. If you forget then you'll get a warning message telling you that you appear to have missed an update later in the week.

2. SoftCD link file - in the root folder - double-click this whenever you want to get the latest updates
3. Problem history database - in the root folder - note that you won't be able to see this until you've updated the CD and entered the password.
4. Technical resource documents - all the technical manuals and other information that used to be on the old field support CDs are there in the same place on this one. That's in the 'reference info' folder.
