Cost

This field specifies what cost information needs to be applied to the time being logged against the activity and project. You are given the choice to either use the default cost for that resource or to specify your own cost settings.

To use the default cost settings for a resource…

• Click the Default Radio Button

Timesheet Expert Web will now use the default cost for that resource dependent on whether the work was carried out in Standard working hours or Overtime.

If you need to override the default cost setting for a particular resource you will need to specify your own cost settings. To do this…

• Click the Specify Radio Button

If the cost rate you require is set up within Timesheet Expert Web you can use the drop down list to select it

• Click the down arrow to the right of the cost description

Scroll down the list to find the cost rate you require

• Use your mouse to select it

In some circumstances you may be required to override the cost settings with a value that is not represented by a code in the drop down list.

To override the cost settings…

• Click the Override cost settings check box until a check appears
  
  
• Enter the cost amount in the text box provided
