WinDelete 3

Ever installed a program, only to find it nearly impossible to remove again later because it doesn't have an uninstaller? IMSI UK and PC Plus have teamed up to give a simple, integrated solution to the problem of programs that don't come with their own uninstall. So long as you've installed the program through WinDelete, you will be able to remove it again safely and easily.

But WinDelete 3 does far more. It includes a host of useful tools to help keep the user's PC running smoothly and efficiently. It is one of the safest and easiest uninstallers available, allowing the user to manage their hard drive and Windows applications without any hassles or limits, freeing up disk space and generally improving system performance.

All of WinDelete's features are available from the Quick Reference Card, which opens when you run the program.

When you install WinDelete, you will be asked if you want to add WinDelete to your Run dialog box. Doing adds a checkbox to the dialog, so that when you install software from your Start menu WinDelete will automatically launch. This is a convenient feature if you use your Run dialog to install software, but you'll probably find dragging and dropping programs onto the WinDelete shortcut on your Desktop a lot easier.

To remove programs, open WinDelete and click on Uninstall. You'll see a long list of all the programs on your system. Scroll down to the bottom of the list, and you'll see an entry titled '<WinDelete Installations>'. Select the program then click the Express button.

And there's more to WinDelete than merely adding and removing programs. The System Consultant and Graph Viewer give information about your operating environment, the System editor allows you to alter various crucial files. You can search for duplicate files on your hard drive, fine-tune your system (careful, this takes a while!) and move applications from one folder to another. Lastly, the Log will let you know what WinDelete has been up to.

Installation

Important Note: Some readers using the 'Built-in Browser', pcplus.exe, have reported problems if they chose to add WinDelete to the Windows Start/Run dialog during installation. We are currently looking into this conflict, but in the meantime if you use the Built-in Browser to view this SuperCD it is probably best to select 'No' when given this option during installation.
