CVD Convert String to Double-Precision

 y# = CVD(8-byte-string)

Converts an eight-byte string expression to a double-precision number.

   -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes: Because of the way Turbo Basic stores numbers in random
access files, numbers have to be converted to strings
before they can be written to disk; when read from the
disk, they must be reconverted from strings to numbers.

A double-precision real number must be converted to a
string (via MKD$) before being stored in a random access
file. To retrieve such a number, first assign it to a file
buffer field (with GET), then use CVD.
