2002 Percussion Camp
Yamaha believes in the value of music programs in our schools, and that music education contributes to the personal and intellectual growth of all individuals. The Sounds of Summer program is a concrete way in which Yamaha supports music education on a local level. With a focus on percussion, a Sounds of Summer camp is an experience that encompasses first class instruction to enhance participants' skills and confidence. Simply put, it promotes enjoyment and dedication to the future of music.

Our clinicians are some of the finest instructors in the world. The studies written by Yamaha artists are progressive, challenging and include a CD with hip accompanying tracks. Join the thousands of students who slam in the sun at Yamaha Sounds of Summer camps all over the United States.

The Yamaha Young Performing Artist (YYPA) program is a national recognition program that provides classical, jazz and contemporary musicians between the ages of 16 and 21 opportunities for exposure, scholarships and career advancement.

Guided and recommended by their teachers and close mentors, hundreds of talented young musicians submit audition materials for review. A panel of top-ranking music professionals and educators select the top performers yearly for the prestigious YYPA title.

YYPA winners are:

  • Provided with a forum to communicate one on one with world class Yamaha artists for professional advice.
  • Given letters of recommendation from the
Yamaha artist relations manager for college or professional applications.
  • Given prioritized consideration when purchasing Yamaha instruments and applying for Yamaha Performing Artist status.
  • Featured in, and given a subscription to the Yamaha publication Backstage Pass.
