Profile Setup Tutorial - Step 7: FTP Settings Tab

Finally, we are at the FTP Settings tab.

If you are not using MS FrontPage to maintain your website, you are likely sending the web pages to the web server via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). If you are using MS FrontPage, check the FrontPage Tutorial for an overview of how AddWeb interfaces with it.

Now, for those of us that use FTP for maintenance, the following settings should be fairly self-explanatory.

You will want to enter the FTP server and login information here. If you do use FTP and are not sure what server you use or what the login information is, contact your Web Host. They will be able to provide you with this information. Port 21 is the default FTP port for most FTP servers.

The Upload Directory Path is the remote path on the FTP server to upload to.

B. Can you get through?

Finally, the Proxy settings here are for those that do use a Proxy Server to access the internet. Please read the Preferences Tutorial if you are not sure.

We have placed the options for Proxy Servers here as some people that use them will have different login information to send through FTP than they do for HTTP. The Preferences Tutorial will guide you through these steps if you need them.
