TUCOWS CD Help page.
The cd rom version of TUCOWS has been designed in such a way you will feel like you were actually connected to the site.
You can browse through the pages by following the links or by using the navigation button at the top (those fancy cows..).
Of course, links to remote URLs have been disabled.
When you click on a program name, instead of beginning an FTP session, you will be prompted to choose if you want to:
Extract Copy View or Execute the file.If you choose Extract, the contents of the file (if zipped) will be extracted to a temporary directory (that you can specify). Then a list of executable files will appear, from which you will normally choose to run the SETUP program. If no executables are found, then you will be given the opportunity to view the list of all the extracted files. At the end of the installation, you will be asked if you want to delete all the fies in the temporary directory. You will normally answer YES. The program automatically prevents you from accidentally deleting other files.
Important:
before you start, you need to enter the pathnames where your decompression software is located. To do this, use the SETUP entry in the OPTIONS menu.
