More Info about Basic Training

What is Basic Training for Non-Commissioned Members

It is an intensive course designed to teach you the skills you will need in your career, and build-up your strength of character. It will help to make you physically and mentally prepared for future challenges. It will make you part of our team.

Expect to be up early...very early, do lots of push-ups, sit-ups, chin-ups and running. You will practice military marching. You will learn about weapons...how to handle them, take care of them and how to use them. You will be taught orienteering and how to live in the field under austere conditions. You will learn first aid and cardio-pulmonary reanimation. In short, you will become a soldier.

Soldiers work together and depend on each other every day. Each team at Basic Training must meet exacting standards, maintaining their living space and personal effects. That goes for bed making, cleanliness of floors and tidiness of lockers. Everybody shares responsibilities.

What is Basic Training for Officers

Officers follow somewhat the same basic program as Non-Commissioned Members, but with the addition of leadership skills training. You will practice it with your peers. Officers must be leaders.
