Other places the Web catches me...

Before I get rolling, I gotta tell you about this crazy guy who devoted a whole Web page to foxes: ItÆs called the Fox Box.

Writer-Types To Admire

There are several poets whose vision turns my blood to rose petals. One of these is Bruce Springsteen. Yes, yes, I said Bruce Springsteen. Another wordman/birdman is gravel-and-glass-voiced Leonard Cohen. The late, great Charles Bukowski is the man who said, "Take a writer away from his typewriter and all you have left is the sickness which started him typing in the beginning." Although some of them are dead, the Beats kick some literary ass. And of course my man James Joyce is always stately and plump.

Largely Literary Places

The Electronic Newsstand is a cool idea. Even cooler is hyperfiction, which is somewhere between a whole new literary movement and a really cool adventure game. The Public Domain Home Page has some neat writerly stuff, as does the pseudo-hip Corduroy's Coffeehouse. Lately IÆve been getting into screenwriting, too. If you want to get into it with me, check out the excellent Screenwriters' resources page.

Martial Arts

IÆm high-belted in several styles and truly enjoy getting kicked in the head. Most recently, I've been competing in Olympic-style Tae Kwon Do. If you also like to get your kicks quite literally, take off your shoes, suck in your gut, and try the CyberDojo.

The Future

One of the scariest things in the world. Try Tarot if youÆre the supernatural type. If not, you might want to get a new job, a new pad, or a new mate:

Love Searching

Now, if youÆre search for love in all the byte places, check out MatchMakers. For select-a-date in all its glory (minus Chuck Woolery), try The World Wide Web Dating Game, where yours truly was a contestant.

Web Searching

Life seems like one big search, isnÆt it? If what youÆre looking for happens to be on the Web, try Lycos or Webcrawler or the Wonderful World Wide Web Worm or CUSI Search or even the slow but serious Archie-Plex. The best index-type listing of Web stuff is clearly at Yahoo.
