Also trendy this year are sheer layers, slits and rising hemlines. As
can be seen in the photo at right, multi-colored layers of sheer fabrics
are plentiful and can be found peppered throughout many of the
collections. There is a predilection toward darker colors under lighter
colors to offer more contrast. Some of the designers offer bare-all
looks that are quite stunning. Slits are running higher up legs than
they did last year. But they are sleek and elegant and tailored gently.
Finally, some collections are offering quasi-1970's hemlines that border
dangerously on being miniskirts.
