it's going to be a large amount of money, of course I should receive a large percentage of that. It's primarily because I am who I am, that this thing is happening. Now in comparison to what the sports figures and film personalities make, I still don't think that we're quite there. Probably the highest paid supermodel is Cindy Crawford, and that is because Cindy is not only a model but appears in film, television and product endorsement. She endorses Planet Hollywood and all of these other different things, so the sum of that from the image that she built creates this lucrative level of income. But when you think of someone like Jim Carey, who is getting $20 million a film, hey we're still at $10 thousand a day. Talk to me about the comparison, I honestly believe that if you are in a position to earn that and you represent the client and the product well and whatever your image carries, if it's something positive and it could demand that kind of money, why shouldn't you be compensated? I think it's fair.

RR: Let me ask you another question in regards to your status as being one of the few women of color in this particular business who has been very successful and became a supermodel. How has this impacted other youngsters of color, teenagers, or other young people who would like to follow in your footsteps? Do you see yourself as a role model?

Roshumba: Well, I absolutely see myself as a role model. Gladly, happily, for me it's just a small price to pay for everything I have ever been given. But, it's interesting, when I think really about the true black supermodels. I can only think of myself, Naomi Cambell, Tyra Banks, and Veronica Webb. And when most people approach me, they approach me with a feeling of dignity and happiness because you know, you're one of us. You're a black sister who made it. You didn't change or compromise your values. You've stayed true, and you made it, whether it came to your looks, or some issues you've had with some clients, I felt like I represented a positive image of a black woman.
