![]() HF: I think we're re-scheduling it for next week. I'm doing something for Vivienne Westwood next week. I've worked sort of a lot with her. I do her shows. Her shows are really exciting because it's a free-for-all. You can do what you want, and you know that the clothes are incredible, and there's nothing stopping you. The drama of that . . . I absolutely love it. And she's doing some advertising next week, so I'm doing that. DD: Is this an ad campaign? HF: Yes, when I say ad campaign, I think it will be a small one. It won't be everywhere. DD: In terms of your personal life, have your solid personal connections been affected by your career? HF: I think they have in a way. I'm not fighting it necessarily, but I'm very aware of it. I'm very aware of how you can begin to spend more time with people who you really don't know, and haven't known all of your life, and can't possibly rely on them forever, because that takes a long time to build that kind of relationship. But, having said that, I'm very lucky because I have friends in New York who I've known for a long time, and friends in Paris. I stay with my cousin just up the road when I stay here. So, I make environments as familiar as possible for me because that's where I get my energy. To do this kind of work, you don't need strength, but energy. I need some sort of cocoon to go into, some sort of embryo to go back into. I'm lucky enough to be able to do that in Paris, New York and London. So, that makes a big difference. I do find myself spending time with different types of people and I love that. I find it very, very interesting. But, I also need the other thing -- the people that I'm really comfortable with, that I can rely on. DD: Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson. Have you met any of them? HF: I've sort of seen them. I really, really admire these girls. I really admire Linda Evangelista. I think she's so beautiful and interesting. She's brilliant at combining her real life with her work. I'm very much in awe of her. I think she's very good at what she does. I love her work, and I love her for being brave enough to change. DD: What are your immediate plans? Are you going back to London? HF: I'm going to Arizona. DD: What's going on there? HF: I'm working for the New York Times with Dominique Issermann for a few days and then I'm going to my sister's graduation. DD: Is the New York Times shoot a styles feature? HF: No. I think it's a fashion story. I love the shoots that they do. I love what they do with fashion stories, but it's very much a fashion story and not a feature. It will be great to go to Arizona, too. DD: Do you know where you're going in Arizona? HF: Yeah, somewhere called Sale. DD: Sale? HF: Yes, Sale, S-A-L-E. Maybe all the clothes will be very cheap. That's what I figure -- 'on sale'. After that I'm coming back here and working here.

DD: I hear you've got a PR agent now. Is this agent thing sort of strange for you? HF: No, I'm fascinated by it. It's really exciting. I know that they [Rogers & Cowan] deal with Claudia Schiffer, and I am a great fan of Claudia Schiffer and her work. I think she comes across as one of the most brilliant, sweet, beautiful and warm persons. She has this incredible attraction, and everybody seems to love her. I really admire her for that and I'm amazed at how you can create that. Obviously that comes from her, but it's also apparently a very good team that she has working for her. So, I am really interested in the whole concept of PR. DD: When did you join Elite? HF: Not very long ago. I was with another agency in New York before. DD: Which one? HF: Bethann. But I never came to New York. Maybe because I wasn't very keen on the whole idea. I joined Elite about a year or a year and a half ago. DD: Are you happy at Elite? HF: They're really great. They're efficient and I have complete faith in the way they deal with everything. They make me feel good and they give me a lot of confidence. That's what you need. DD: It sounds as if your career is skyrocketing. HF: It's going really well. It's going really, really well.
