After the photo opportunity, we got a chance to talk briefly with Tyra. We reminded her that she had seen SUPERMODEL.COM shortly after its birth. "Yeah," she smiled, "I remember that. It was cool."

We asked how her dual careers were going. Modeling couldn't be better, she told us. Recent spreads in the Victoria's Secret catalog and appearances in Pepsi and other TV ads, in addition to her many print ads, are keeping her busy. As for acting, that too is going well. We asked about her latest movie. Her performance in "Higher Learning," which had offered a very serious commentary on racial differences between extreme groups on a college campus, was compelling and saddening. A Skinhead shot and killed T yra's character at the end of the movie. She was quick to point out that her new movie, due to be released soon, is a romantic comedy, and "I don't get shot in this one," she joked. (More.)
