Punctuating the major sections of the book are some of Cindy's adages. Included are: "Makeup should never take more than five minutes tops! Fifteen, if you're going to a black tie dinner." And, "If it disappears on your face then you know it's the right c olor."

The whole premise seems to be less is more, and all of it should steer towards what Cindy calls "A Basic Face." But the book is about more than just makeup. It also discusses healthy behaviors that affect appearance, such as not smoking, getting plenty of sleep and drinking lots of water. (More.)
