Tragedy in the CongoSupermodel Amber Valletta was conspicuously absent from the runways during Fashion Week in Paris. The reason? A bizarre and stupid tragedy that occurred on March 16th in the Congo. Amber's boyfriend and fellow model, Jesse Hanbury, is the br other-in-law of British surgeon Ben Dalton. "The London Daily Telegraph" reports that police opened fire on Dalton while he was stopped at a checkpoint. He had embarked on a journey with his wife and friends, that began in Morocco and was to end in South Africa. While at the check points, Dalton apparently had an argument with an officer then for some reason began to run away. He was shot as he tried to flee. African checkpoints and roadblocks are well-known methods used by corrupt authorities the steal from those wishing to pass. It seems Dalton didn't want to pay and it cost him his life. |
