![]() The Brain GameWell we've just about heard everything, especially after this little beaut. Peter Bucchieri, who co-owned Star Capital with partner David Weil, was recently convicted in both federal and state courts of bilking clients out of a million bucks. Among those hood winked were Ingrid Seynhaeve (pictured), Nicole Beach and Anjelika Kallio. The time tagged to the offense is 7 to 15 years. But Bucchieri is doing everything he can to delay sentencing. He was to have been sentenced the first time in February. That was delayed, at his attorney's request, until April 11. Now his attorney wants another 90-day delay to investigate organic brain dysfunction, a disorder he claims has plagued his client since puberty. The brain dysfunction has interfered with Bucchieri's thought processes since he was an adolescent, says the attorney, and as such should be taken into account during the sentencing. "Yeah, right," is the sentiment coming from some of the victims. Bucchieri and Weil used their victims' dough to pay off the IRS, pay down some mortgages and buy a Porsche. The thought processes involved in getting that Porsche must have been horrendously interfered with. He just had to have it no matter what he had to do to get it.On a conciliatory note, Ingrid's attorney says that Bucchieri has made a credible effort at making restitution. Donna Eller on the other hand isn't impressed. As the president of Model Guild, she was incensed over the request for a delay and fired off letters to the judges involved. In them, she wrote, she wants justice served, and right now. We're with her. |
