Things Get Tight for Naomi

Supermodel Naomi Campbell (pictured) was doing her usual incredible modeling during the Todd Oldham show until she donned a dress that was a tad too tight. Instead of enabling her to do her usual sassy stride, the super tight skirt virtually hobbled her. She shuffled her way far enough onto the catwalk to let photographers get their shots, then cut the appearance short and headed for back stage.

She later told the "New York Post," "I couldn't do the dress justice."

Fashion Cafe Hosts Elite's Search for New Faces

Supermodels Roshumba and Brenda Schad hosted this year's Elite Model of the Year search at the Fashion Cafe last night. The event, co-sponsored by Lee Jeans, brought scores of excited model hopefuls to the sidewalk outside the Fashion Cafe. Each was evaluated by Elite scouts who chose 25 lucky prospects. They were outfitted in Lee and Elite fashions and then asked to strut the catwalk. Sitting among the judges were supermodel Daniela Pestova and Elite's two chief executives, John Casablancas and Monique Pillard.

From the 25 girls who started the evening, eight were finally chosen. The search will be held in 100 U.S. cities as well as cities all over the world. The final judging, which will determine one lucky winner who is guaranteed contracts worth six figures, will take place in Nice, France in August.

Look for SUPERMODEL.COM's extended coverage of the event, which will be published soon in our Special Reports section.
