Slope Scare
It seems that Elle Macpherson, supermodel and budding actress, nearly bought the farm during a recent skiing excursion. According to the "New York Post" (January 6, 1997) while enjoying the holidays in Aspen, Elle decided to take to the slopes.
Trouble was, she couldn't get a handle on how to stop those pesky skis. Shussing uncontrollably toward the Little Nell cruller/beer shop at the foot of the mountain, patrons thought she was going to go join them by crashing through the establishment's pl
ate-glass window. Just a few feet before she would have kissed some serious glass, a snowdrift presented itself saving her and innocent bar patrons. Shaken up, but not stirred, Elle got up off the ground, dusted herself off and headed back up the mountai
n to ski some more! There were no reports of subsequent braking problems.
