Did He Paint My What???!?

"GQ" said there'd never be another swimsuit edition after Tyra Banks posed so majestically on one of their covers last year. It was a healthy circulation booster for the pub., but they weren't quite comfortable with a" bathing suit babe" image, even t hough Tyra is considerably more sophisticated than that. But they haven't sworn off bathing suit models entirely. The "Daily News" (January 10, 1997) reports that "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit-issue scorcher Rebecca Romijn will be on the new "GQ" magazine cover with the NBA's Dennis Rodman. Rebecca, who poses less than fully clad, was a little apprehensive about appearing that way for the magazine. But she swears that Rodman was "a gentleman" during the shoot. When she was asked if it was D ennis who'd painted the hands on her breasts, she was quick to reply, "No!" The creative was, in fact, provided by Joanne Gair, who is a known bodypainter. Dennis' myriad tatoos made body painting a moot point. His bridal gown was back in Chicago, so we have no idea what he wore -- or didn't.

New Karan Couple -- Thwaaaaaaaap! To You, Sister

Things haven't been going at all well for Demi Moore of late. Her long awaited stripper sequences in her last flick left moviegoers, how can we say this delicately?... less than aroused. And she's had a tough time trying to prove to Hollywood m ovie execs that her star appeal is strong enough at the box office to legitimize her alot-more-than-a-million price tag. But then she figures she always has Donna Karan modeling to fall back on -- she's appeared in Karan ads with hubby Bruce Wil lis. Make that always had Donna Karan to fall back on. The "New York Post" (January 10, 1997) is reporting that Demi was suffering from a streak of over confidence (Demi? Mais non!) about her modeling career. She was so confident that she and Bruce we re irreplaceable in Karan ads that she confronted company executives with: "Who are you going to get to replace me?" Their answer was a juicy raspberry -- the Bronx cheer kind. When the March fashion magazines hit the stands, Karan ads will be featuring s upermodel Iman and her husband, rock icon David Bowie.
