Claudia's Performing at Cannes

Claudia Schiffer (pictured) is about to make her first major acting appearance on the silver screen. Better still, the movie, "The Blackout," directed by Abel Ferrara, has been tapped as an entry for the Cannes Film Festival's main event. Not bad f or Claudia, who shares scenes with the likes of Dennis Hopper and Matthew Modine. According to insiders, the movie has snagged the coveted midnight showing slot. That's been beneficial to movies past. To add more sugar to mix, this year mar ks the 50th anniversary of the infamous festival, and as such, is sure to draw bigger crowds of the influential and not so influential. Claudia has made appearances in other movies, such as "Richie Rich," which starred Macauley Culkin. Despite her aerobics scene, the film bombed at the box office. We think that if Ferrara allowed Claudia's talent to shine through, "The Blackout" will be an unqualified success.

Where's My Teddy Bear?

We reported in February that promising model Rachel Williams had changed career paths from modeling to architecture. The lane change was brought about by a lack of work. Kate Moss, Williams asserted, and the wasted look she represents, meant fewer assignments for "people like me." Apparently, losing prominence as a model has had more of a "set-back" phychological effect than was first thought. According to Rush & Molloy, who write for the "Daily News," Rachel was seen sacked out on a flight from London. Nothing odd about that except that she was happily sucking her thumb. After Rachel disembarked, a stew found Rachel's bra wedged into magazine pouch. Go figure.

Angie's Ex Headed for Tune Town

With her three-month marriage in tatters, Angie Everhart is trying to move on to other things. Her soon-to-be ex-husband, Ashley Hamilton, will focus his attention on his band, FINE. We think that's appropriate since FINE is the anagram for F------ up, Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional. Couldn't have said it better ourselves.
