Island Habitat to the Stars Closing

Claudia Schiffer (pictured) and fiance David Copperfield used to romp in the water and brown in the sun there. So did a wide variety of other celebs. But the owners of the Jumby Bay Island hotel and resort in the Caribbean are rumored to be closing the hotel. The reason? Ownership of the island, a few miles away from Antigua, is a convoluted affair. As originally conceived, Jumby Bay Island offers vacationers an exclusive, discreet place to play, while at the same time offering seven-figure houses to those who wanted to buy them by joining the Jumby Bay Island club.

The island was to be fully developed to attract more house buyers, but the owners, brothers Harry and John Mariani, claim the project is financially inviable, so they're closing up shop and heading into the sunset. A court battle is sure to follow. For now, anyway, Claudia and David will have to find paradise elsewhere, that is, of course, unless Robin Leach, one of the homeowners, invites them to stay at his place.

Painting Bridget

Bridget Hall was seen recently at the Dyansen Gallery. She was there to take in the artwork as well as become artwork. Her shirt became the canvas for Peter Max, who made Bridget a masterpiece.
