CIAC Mailing Lists

CIAC manages several mailing lists for its electronic publications:

• CIAC-Bulletin: CIAC Information Bulletins and Advisory Notices containing important, time-critical computer security information.
• CIAC-Notes: CIAC's newest publication, Notes, provides a periodic collection of less urgent computer security information.

To subscribe to one of these lists, follow these instructions:
Send e-mail to: majordomo@tholia.llnl.gov

In the BODY (not subject) of the message put (either or both):

subscribe ciac-bulletin
subscribe ciac-notes

You should receive a response from the mailing list server within 30 minutes. Both of these lists require confirmation of a subscription before you are added to the list -- this is to resolve some problems we have had with people signing each other up to mailing lists they didn't wish to be on. Simply follow the instructions in the confirmation message and you will receive the welcome information from the list showing you have been successfully subscribed. If you have any problems in using these commands to getting subscribed/unsubscribed to one of the mailing lists after trying these instructions, please feel free to send email to owner-majordomo@tholia.llnl.gov or ciac@llnl.gov for assistance.

Some other commands which can be placed in the BODY of the message to majordomo@tholia.llnl.gov are:

help

unsubscribe ciac-bulletin
unsubscribe ciac-notes

'help' will send you the help file for how to issue commands to the mail server.
'unsubscribe' will unsubscribe you from the list.
