Spence Petros is one of North America's most versatile and well-respected freshwater fishermen. Author, fishing educator, tournament angler, Spence is a veteran of over 125 television and radio shows and editor of Fishing Facts magazine for the last 22 years.
He was inducted into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 1989 and is listed among "The Living Legends of American Sportfishing," a book authored by outdoor writer Larry Colomo profiling 100 of the top people in the sportfishing industry.
One of Spence's greatest strengths is his ability to teach others and he is in great demand as a speaker, giving regular seminars throughout the country. He is also a regular guest on a variety of television fishing shows.
He has fished numerous muskie and bass tournaments, never finishing lower than 12th place. Although Spence has caught peacock bass, piranha and other exotic species in South America, plus giant pike, trout, and walleyes as far north as the Arctic Circle, he stays in tune with the hottest new methods for the average angler and has been responsible for the development of many new products and methods to help others catch more fish. His special interest is in helping children and beginners.
