Carolee Boyles-Sprenkel

Carolee Boyles-Sprenkel began her writing career as an anti-hunter, but exposure to the outdoors convinced her to try hunting. Since 1982, she's spent every fall in the woods.

She has written for such diverse publications as Popular Woodworking, Blair & Ketchum's Country Journal, and American Forests, on topics ranging from woodcrafting to winemaking. But her first love is writing about hunting; she tries to make her stories capture some of the mystique and the romance of the sport.

She resides on a farm outside Quincy, Florida, with her husband and five-year-old son, Christopher, whom she first took deer hunting when he was less than a year old. They killed their first deer together when Christopher was 22 months old. She is currently at work on a women's guide to hunting in the United States.
