Shimano Carbomax Rods Feature "Sandwiching" Design For Tip Strength
Designed with a special "sandwiching" technique that adds strength to the rod's tip without sacrificing sensitivity, Shimano has introduced the Carbomax rod series, available in six casting (CCM) and nine spinning (SCM) models.
Shimano research shows when an angler does break a rod, 90 percent of the time the breakage occurs within the first foot from the tip. The Carbomax sandwiching design alternates layers of graphite and fiberglass materials to provide a tip section that is durable, and yet still responsive.
All rods feature graphite blanks with graphite-fiberglass composite tips, cork handles, hook keepers, cushioned graphite reel seats, and Hialoy "T" guides on the casting models and "SV" guides on the spinning models.
The Carbomax casting rods include the six-foot CCM-60M and CCM-60MH, the seven-foot CCM-66M, CCM-66MH, CCM-70M and CCM-70MH. Carbomax spinning rods include the SCM-50UL, SCM-56UL, SCM-60M, SCM-60MH, SCM-60M2, SCM-66M, SCM-66MH, SCM-66M2, and SCM-70M.
