Peak 1 Adds Four-Season Geodome To Line
Peak 1's new Constellation tent--a four-season geodome with generous front and rear vestibules--features clear view windows on the rainfly and vestibule so weather conditions outside can be assessed easily from the warmth and comfort of inside the tent, or inside a sleeping bag. A triangular window on each side plus a rectangular window in the roomy front vestibule offer a clear view of the world outside.
Four equal-length poles of gold anodized 7001 series aluminum form a strong four-season structure. Continuous pole sleeves across the top of the dome combined with quick frame clips along the sides facilitate a simple and fast setup and contribute to the Constellation's ability to handle inclement and windy weather.
No-See-Um mesh in the roof panels allow air to vent in cold-weather conditions and combine with side windows and generous doors to offer superb air circulation in warmer conditions.
The tent, with a 94x94-inch floor size, is rated at two- to three-person capacity. Center height is 43 inches. The oversized front vestibule, which features a two-way entry system, offers 9.37 cubic feet of gear storage space. The rear vestibule, which offers an additional entrance/exit or stowage option via a U-style door, provides another 2.14 cubic feet of space.
The rainfly, a 1,500mm polyurethane-coated nylon, features factory-sealed seams. It is designed so the rear half of the fly can be rolled up and held in place to expose the mesh roof panels on mild nights for star gazing and ventilation while leaving the front vestibule intact and gear covered. Other features include fully coated and seam-sealed tub-style floor, oversized stake loops, adjustable nylon webbing fly tiedowns with quick-release buckles, and oversized storage bag for easy loading with dual compression straps to cinch the bundle tight.
The Constellation, with a pack weight of 9 pounds, 6 ounces, has a suggested retail price of $325.
