The terrible problem of exiles, converts, those who were forced to flee because of their faith, the diaspora that found its refuge in the hospitable Low Countries, is also mentioned.


It would also be impossible not to mention those seekers of the Absolute who were so numerous in that period, both in Flanders and in Castilla y Le≤n: De Suso, Herp, Tauler, Ruusbroeck and the two great personalities who alone justify the existence of humanity: John of the Cross and Teresa of Jesus, who have made such an impression on modern thought.
