Numerical simulations of a case of intensive cyclone development in the Eastern Mediterranean during the Nov.

2 - 3, 1994 period were performed. Simulations are based on application of the Florida State University Global Spectral Model (16 levels, T106 spectral resolution) for creation the initial/lateral boundary data set for mesoscale computations using the Colorado State University RAMS nonhydrosta- tic model (30 levels, two nested grids with 60 and 15 km horizontal resolution). Sensitivity of results of the simulations to the coarse mesh model data detalization, duration of the run and soil moisture parameters are analysed. Comparison of the model data with radar observations performed by the TAU meteorological radar laboratry is also performed.
