It is well known, that in piedmont areas of the Republic of Uzbekistn the hazardous weather phenomena, such as strong showers and rain floods, cause significant damage to economic activity of the population and nature.
In the article the influence of arrival to our region the southern (mediterranean) cyclones on the intensity of the mudflows and floods phenomena in piedmont areas of Uzbekistan is covered.
The most dangerous situations are the regeneration and deepening of these cyclones is at inflow of cold air masses from the north-west and west.
For minimization of damage from the hazardous weather phenomena the important significance, except daily and medium- term forecasts, has the very short-term forecast. The efficiently of the very short-term forecasts, based on radar observation, during southern (mediterranean) cyclones is significant because of predictability of a trajectory of movement of precipitation forming cells by due to orographic features of a region.
It is known, that the efficiency of the forecast is increased, if it contain the quantitative parameters of the phenomenon. In our case the evaluation of the rain flood amount by radar- observation for the before known basins of the small mountain rivers is offered.
