The achievement of the register of the mediterrenean cyclones charged on trajectories is a result of the need of comparison and ranging of a large material in the studied field during 40 years of the Romanian synoptic school. Well-known researchers, as Nicolae Topor, Andrei Doneaud, Nicolae Ion-Bordei, Constantin Sorodoc, Elena Milea or Margareta Strutu, followed interesting ideas, really original sometimes. For the work "in extenso" the figures will refer to the period in title. The present abstract stops at 1995 because it was submitted in September 1995.

From outside looking in, at a first aproximation we would say that Romania, through its geographic position, does not lie in the mediterrenean cyclons way but by accident. The reality is different in fact and it is strongly marked by the mediterrenean cyclones which, charged on certain trajectories directly or in connection with other continental baric formations, determine over 70 % of the total precipitations fallen in the country, but the drought of the Romanian summers and winters in the last 12-15 years is in close connection with the trend of the mediterrenean cyclones to follow european trajectories more and more South-Eastern in comparison with the ones of the previous decades. The reason are, of course, global but they are not the object of the present work.

Our standards in choosing the cyclones were the following:

- we chose and analized only the cyclonic formations generated above or which reached the Mediterenean Sea and which charged on trajectories found on synoptic maps published in the Daily Bulletin of NIMH synoptic archive which includes 6 hours maps; these situations being very large in member, the matter is still open for the second version of the register; - the clasification into one trajectory or another was established on the basis of a reference author, considered "classic" in Romania - C. Sorodoc and a so called "modern" one, E. Ion-Bordei, which imposed a series of deviations of the cyclones from the classic Sorodoc type trajectories in certain aerosynoptic circumstances; - a very South-mediterrenean trajectory was also asimilated, called "Alpert" (by the name of the researcher who considered it the most) together with the Romanian classic trajectories or the Romanian deviations; - a third deviation trajectory of Bordei type, marked T2c number of cases for the succeds in crossing the Near Asia and arriving above the Black Sea; - the column of "sundries" could not miss the 1st version of the register. here, one can find the cyclones which have a certain classic trajectory in the first step and they reach another one in their ending point. The role of aerologic correspondence is large in these cases and it will be demonstrated in the 2nd version. In the same column, we included teh so called "synoptic peculiarities"; - the cyclons slipping very fast from Biscaya Bay or France to the western basin of the Mediterrenean Sea were not avoided, if the last ones trajectorially behaved like the real mediterrenen cyclones. However they are differently registered, having another geographic "address" of birth even if, through effects, they are not at all different from the original mediterrenean cyclones; - the short life (6 hours) mezoscale cyclones (for the pressure fields of 1,013 to 1,018 mb) and without trajectories charge, being considered only of local importance.

The 1st phase of work of the register

The purpose of the authors is that the present register to be included in the tematic processing data archive of CLWF of INMH and to be completed afterwards every year in agreement with the conception scheme.

The period 1979-1996 was chosen for two reasons:

1. Because until 1979 the matter of trajectories had been fully discussed in Romania and the conclusion had already because the hints of forecast in the Romanian operative services; 2. Because the updating of archive research could confirm, deny or complete the results obtained in the first phase of our activity. The work emphasizes the first and last possibility.
