A widespread area of thunderstorms afected Valencia Region at 15 june 1996.

A Doppler Weather radar sited at Cullera, south of the city of Valencia provided data from those systems.

Echoes stronger than 60 dBz and long lived were observed related with high echotops at the coastal area. The study of the radial wind pictures showed rotating circulations as mesovortex in boths senses of circulations:

cyclonic and anticyclonic. All means that a supercell was present.

This system was related to a major structure that crossed from south to north part of the Valencia Region. A discussion about the internal organization, the environment where it was developed and ground observations were also provided.
